In the aftermath of Hurricane Irene numerous trees are down across roads and power lines. Please stay away from downed power lines and areas where trees are resting on power lines!

Folks, we had another great Carnival this year and it was all because of you!

This year we had fun seeing you on the rides, enjoying the food, cotton candy, baked goods and ice cream, and getting excited playing Bingo!

We even got to give away another car!

World Trade Center steel

For some time now Chief Jim Girardi of the Easton Fire Department has been working to obtain a piece of World Trade Center Steel to be incorporated into a suitable memorial in Easton. After months of effort the steel has arrived at the firehouse. A design committee will convene to determine how best to present it in a way that will honor the victims and responders of 9/11.

Easton FD busy as snow melts

As we all know, Easton had a lot of snow this winter. Those massive white drifts translated into some busy weeks for the Fire Department as melting snow flooded numerous basements. On March 7th alone the EFD responded to 10 separate locations to pump out flooded basements. On that day firefighters and apparatus responded simultaneously to as many as three locations. The last call of the day was for a potentially serious motor vehicle accident. It came hard on the heels of several pump out calls.

Hydrants need shoveling too!

When winter storms hit, hydrants get buried twice: First by the storm and then again by the snow plows!

Both Volunteer and Career staff work to shovel out the hydrants. Career staff make hydrant clearing runs when schedules permit. Volunteers form work parties on weekends to accelerate the effort.
